This Is Us

We are a Christ-centered community working to bring God’s kingdom to life in Evansville and the world at large!

Our faith is evidenced equally by our worship and our service to our fellow citizens.

We seek Christian maturity and understanding through heartfelt worship and in-depth study of God’s Word.

We endeavor to align our lives to His teachings while helping others do the same.  We strive to help meet the needs of our neighbors, creating footprints of justice, mercy, compassion, and hope.

We strive to follow Christ's mandate to all of his disciples when he commanded us in Matthew 28:19-20 to, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

At St. Paul's we follow the Biblical admonition to love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.  To this end, we offer our financial resources as well as our time, energy and talent to enrich the lives of others throughout the world.

Our giving goes to support the programs of this church and our many missions.

St. Paul’s is a congregation that practices its faith in the protestant tradition as expressed by the Apostle’s Creed  and the Statement of Faith of the United Church of Christ.  We believe in the triune deity expressed as the Father (Creator), Son (Redeemer) and Holy Spirit (who dwells among us and empowers the Universal Church).  We participate in Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, which is open to all believers regardless of church affiliation, on a regular basis.  This congregation traditionally practices infant baptism, but also baptizes at later points in the faith journey.  Baptism is performed in the sanctuary by sprinkling, but baptism by immersion can be accommodated.  Membership may be by confirmation, other member education, or by transfer of membership from another church

WE ARE PART OF THE
UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

St. Paul's has been a member of the UCC since the denomination was formed in the late 1950s.  The church supports the work of the United Church of Christ and its affiliated institutions.  Within the freedom of being part of the UCC family, St. Paul's takes seriously its responsibility to follow God's call as our congregation discerns it.
